Fishery Mosque
Djama-Djedid (Fisheries Mosque)
Near this monument which once washed by the sea, were the small mosque 'of the Fishermen' (Mesdjed-el-Houatin) and the Sea Gate (Bab-el-Behar).
Djamaa El Djedid in Algiers is the most striking type of Turkish architecture, it is also undoubtedly the most interesting example in terms of its architectural design and its decoration.
It was built in 1660, a large dome whose summit rises internally to more than 24 m, is built of bricks in horizontal annular courses.
