Hippocampus hippocampus (Seahorse)

Horizontal head reminiscent of a horse which extends into a vertical body ending in a prehensile tail.
Size up to 15 cm.
Color: Brownish or blackish, rarely spotted with white.
Some individuals are lighter, others reddish. The dorsal is grayish.
Habitat: The seahorse prefers sandy bottoms from 0 to 30 m rich in organic detritus.
