Palinurus elephas (Lobster)
Subcylindrical carapace, wider in its posterior quarter, not swollen, with an upper surface furnished with numerous spines, the strongest of which are arranged in longitudinal rows.
The front edge of the carapace bears two strong frontal horns in the shape of a triangle.
Common size from 20 to 40 cm with a maximum of 50 cm.
Color: General background brownish red to brownish purple; dark abdomen.
Habitat: The lobster lives in rocky bottoms, rarely sandy, generally from 10 to 70 m.
