Ladybug. Ladybugs are pretty hemispherical insects with bright colors, whose design system most often consists of black spots on a red or yellow background or conversely in light spots on a darker or black background.
Ladybugs are medium-sized or small beetles, rarely reaching more than 1 cm in length and hardly falling below 1 mm for the smallest forms.
In this family, the variations in coloring are such that in the same species, the black pigment can completely invade the elytra, revealing the red background only by two small elytral spots or disappear completely, leaving the elytra entirely red.
Between these two extremes are all the transitions from one color to another. Ladybug antennae are made up of 11 sections. Their tarsi, composed of 4 articles, appear to have only three, the third, very small, being hidden by the second.
With the exception of a few species which are phytophagous, the larvae and adults of ladybugs are predators of aphids, mealybugs and mites.
