Shellfish Bolinus brandaris
Species commonly called Murex, presents an ovoid shell, formed of 6-7 turns decorated with conical warts arranged radially. The siphonal canal is narrow and very long. The entire shell reaches approximately 90 mm in height. The color is white-yellowish and the opening is orange-yellow.
This gastropod is extremely common on the Algerian coasts, particularly at depths greater than 15-20 m on sandy, muddy to gravelly bottoms. It is a scavenging species.
