Hinia reticulata shells
This species has a solid shell, oval-conical in shape, formed of 8-9 turns separated by a very shallow suture. The maximum length reached is 32 mm for a width of 18 mm. The color of the shell is very variable, it ranges from light yellow to dark and the light shells have brown streaks.
This gastropod is common along the Algerian coast on sandy and muddy bottoms, from the shore to a depth of 15m. Hinia reticulata is a scavenger species, it feeds on the flesh of various corpses of worms, molluscs and fish.
