Reaching a length of 6 mm, the larvae, olive brown in color, have black-brown hairs. Insects and larvae are found both outdoors and in homes. Eggs are preferably laid on animal substances. Complete development, depending on climatic conditions, takes approximately 6 months.
The carpet beetle spreads throughout the world, especially in Europe and North America. Larvae are found on woolens, carpets, upholstered furniture, feathers, etc. In the case of a mass infestation, they can cause significant damage.
