The technique of making glass was discovered by the Egyptians 4,000 years BC. Under the Roman Empire, Syria was the largest center for the production of art glass and the training center for master glassmakers.
The discovery in June 1985 in Tipaza of an ancient glass foundry confirms the existence of glassmaking workshops in the region.
Glass objects and works take the most diverse shapes and often represent cups, dishes, bottles, goblets, etc.
