Shells Venus verrucosa (Linnaeus, 1758)
Venus cerrucosa, commonly called the clam, has a thick, equivalve and domed shell with very marked concentric lamellar striations. The exterior color ranges from white to rust, gray, yellow and brown depending on the existing deposits.
This species lives between the coast and 100 meters depth; but especially from 0 to 50 meters deep. It can reach maximum sizes of 70 mm for common sizes of 45 mm.
