Epitonium commune shells

This gastropod has 8 to 9 turns of loosely coiled whorls, connected together by a thin varicose vein. The separation of the turns of the turns is so complete that there is no suture. The navel is wide and deep. The color of the shell is pale pink or beige.
This species lives on infra-littoral sands and can reach a maximum size of 3 cm in the Mediterranean.
