This species has a thin, high-spired shell with a small umbilicus sometimes hidden by shell growth. The upper surface has oblique vertical wrinkles, covered with small shells and debris. The shell color is yellowish white to whitish.
Xenophora crispa lives on coarse sand to fine gravel bottoms in deep water.
