Numidian kings Jugurtha (118-105 BC)
Son of Mastanabal and grandson of Massinissa, Jugurtha was born in 160 BC. An excellent warrior, he was admired by the Romans alongside whom he participated in the siege of Numantia, Spain. He takes power after the struggles committed against these adversaries. Rome, sensing the danger he represents at the head of power, uses his insurrection and the assassination of Hiempsal as a pretext to declare him a prison sentence that will last six years. He died on January 7, 104 BC. B.C.
