Son of Juba l, he was born around 52 BC. J.C. He was taken as a prisoner to Rome after the death of his father, while he was still a child. He was educated according to Roman tradition. He marries Cleopatra Selene. Augustus named him king of Mauritania in 25 BC. He promoted the development of a brilliant civilization in his capital Caesarea (today Cherchell).
When the Takfarinas revolution broke out in 25 BC, he went to Rome to confront the latter. He died in 23 BC.
