Lambèse officially Lambèse-Tazoult (Latin: Lambaesis) is a military town in Roman Africa located in the northeast of Algeria in the Aurès region, 10 km from Batna, on the road from Timgad to Khenchela.
The agglomeration of Lambaesis had as its first element a 200 meter camp built in 81 by the III Augusta Legion, a second of two hectares will be built a little later and a third will follow very shortly after, the places were inspected by the emperor Hadrian in 128.
