Located near the site of the old Algiers terminal, which did not meet the needs and expectations of travelers, the new terminal was recently delivered.
Built on an area estimated at 82,000 m2, this infrastructure, work on which resumed in 2003, consists of twelve aircraft parking bays, with two split and dedicated to large aircraft, and a vehicle parking lot with more than 2,000 spaces.
This new terminal, which represents a judicious mix of glass and steel with avant-garde shapes with its two spider web-shaped modules, can accommodate up to 6 million passengers per year. It offers all the amenities to travelers because it meets all the conditions of comfort and security. The quality of the latest generation equipment installed is worthy of the most recent airports built around the world.
In addition to technical equipment, the new terminal has support structures such as offices, shops, catering areas, cafeterias, etc.
As for the main lounge, it covers an area of almost 6,000 m2.
It is remarkable for its Arab-Moorish architecture with harmonious lines with its elegant 'boustenes' (gardens) located in the middle of a patio decorated with fountains.
The decoration and embellishment carried out by a multidisciplinary team of more than 350 Algerian artisans, from all trades, allow travelers to discover a wide panorama of Algerian heritage.
This new international airport can be considered a true showcase of Algeria and one that the capital can be proud of.
