Setif Theater
The Sétif municipal theater was built around 1889, during the colonial period, on an area of 731 m2. This theater can accommodate up to 150 seats. In 1999, the Sétif theater underwent a key restoration campaign which ended on February 17, 2004. On July 5 of the same year, and after the renovation, the theater in question reopened its doors to the public. The growth and dynamics experienced by the Algerian theater movement thanks to Mahieddine Bachetarzi, Rachid Kassentini and many other people, had a great impact on the rebirth of theater in the Sétif region during the colonial era. Following independence, the various theater troupes operated under the aegis of Muslim scouts.
