Miliana
The Town of Miliana
This city is located southwest of Algiers on the northern side of the Little Atlas, at approximately 750 meters above sea level, and is dominated by the majestic Zaccar mountain. Built on a large travertine rock with abrupt contours, it overlooks a ravine to the east, the Chélif valley to the south and a plateau sprinkled with water to the west up to the Ouarsenis range. It is characterized by a mild and temperate climate. Its gardens and orchards cultivated on benches spread harmoniously towards the plain. In addition to its exceptional panoramas, it conceals various historical remains such as the mosque of Sidi Ahmed Benyoucef and the former residence of Emir Abdelkader in addition to the clock which is classified as a historic monument.
