Constantine’s “Kabbab” wooden shoes; It is a pair of sock shoes which were made from the same piece of wood covered with thin sheets of silver.
Originally from the city of Constantine, it was made at the beginning of the 20th century to be worn by a rich bride from the region, when she left the hammam ritual. This shoe probably takes its name from the rhythm of the steps it emits, reflecting the graceful gait and hence the presence.
This pair is kept at the National Bardo Museum in Algiers.
