The fishing port of Bouharoun is one of the most important fishing ports in Algeria. It is located in Bou Ismail, 20 kilometers from the capital of the wilaya of Tipaza. This port existed during the colonial period as a shelter for small fishing boats, sardine boats and small trawlers. It was rebuilt in 1974.
During the year 1976 and with the aim of ensuring sufficient shelter from bodies of water, the port of Bouharoun was extended by an extension of the West jetty bending towards the North-East. Second fishing port after that of Béni Saf, it constitutes the source of life for fishermen supplemented by other activities such as agriculture and trade.
The fishing fleet has more than 200 boats.
