The Lanner Falcon (Falco biarmicus)
The lanner falcon, similar in size to the peregrine falcon, is distinguished by its paler coloring, its longer tail and its less pointed wings. The top of the head is covered with a red hood, the forehead is white. The upper part of the back is slate gray contrasting with the rather pale belly, predominantly creamy white or red.
It nests on old abandoned nests, located on a ledge, a steep promontory or a tree. The clutch is 2 to 5 eggs incubated by both parents for 30 to 35 days.
