The diadem snake is a species of snake that lives in countries with very dry climates. It is classified among the snakes of arid zones. The diadem snake is present in North Africa. It is a snake strong in character and interesting in habits. As an adult, it can reach up to 180 cm in length. The coloring of juveniles is a little dull, with the back marked with brown.
The diadem snake feeds on rodents, birds and lizards. It contributes greatly to the natural control of populations of these animals harmful to agriculture.
The female diadem snake lays 5 to 16 very elongated and good-sized eggs which hatch between 60 and 70 days.
