50th Anniversary of Independence and Youth Day
Independence and Youth Day, July 5, 1962 is celebrated every year in Algeria as it should be.
This year, the celebration of this significant date in the country's history takes on increased importance.
With particular regard to the 50th anniversary of the recovery of the right of the Algerian people to freedom and independence, the Algerian State, with the direct support of His Excellency the President of the Republic, is devoting all its efforts to prepare and create a festive atmosphere in order to celebrate this commemoration throughout the year and throughout the country.
Thus, throughout the year, exhibitions will be organized on the memory and on the countless achievements of the country from 1962 to the present day, such as housing, town planning, water resources, highways and transport in order to publicize the efforts made for the development of Algeria during these 50 years of independence, as well as their impact on the improvement of development indicators and the citizen's standard of living.
The activities of young people have not been forgotten since “algértades” or choreographic performances hosted by 15,000 young people aged 15 to 25, from all regions of the country, are planned for July 5, 2012 at the July 5 Olympic complex.
Once again, the Algerian people will express with joy and dignity and with ardor and faith their desire to serve the new Algeria.
