Bathynectes maravigna
Bathynectes maravigna is a circalittoral species, present in muddy sands and around hydrothermal vents. It is found in the Atlantic, throughout the Mediterranean and in the Black Sea, between 200 m and 1500 m deep. The Maravigna swimming crab has a finely granular polygonal carapace measuring 50x87 mm; its color is orange-red with white spots.
