Is a species of herbaceous plant in the Caryophyllaceae family which includes nearly 300 varieties. Originally from the coasts of the Mediterranean, this plant has been cultivated since antiquity.
10 to 40 cm high, the leaves are very elongated, the flowers of varied colors, white, pink or red, have serrated petals at the top.
The carnation is cultivated as an ornamental plant, its flowering is summer.
