55th Anniversary of Algerian-Chinese diplomatic relations
On December 20, 2013, Algeria and China are celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, to the extent that the two countries have become true partners both bilaterally and on the international scene.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on December 20, 1958.
The People's Republic of China was one of the first political supporters of Algeria in revolt against colonial occupation.
From 1958 to the present day, Algeria and China have developed strong ties of solidarity, cooperation and partnership for the greatest benefit of both peoples.
Thus, Algerian-Chinese cooperative relations represent immense potential and a promising future. The two States renew at every opportunity their desire to continue working together to consolidate mutual political trust, increase cultural exchanges, strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs and raise their cooperative relations to a higher level.
The multiple meetings between Algerian and Chinese officials made it possible to establish a considerable flow of exchange in the fields of economy, trade, health, culture and higher education.
