60th Anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian revolution
The commemoration of the sixtieth anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution takes on a very special significance. IT allows us to evoke the historic decision taken by the leaders of the Algerian Revolution who, thanks to their judicious and wise policy, were convinced that the triumph of the liberation struggle necessarily requires a strong and united front of all Algerians in order to challenge and confront the colonial repressive machine.
This commemoration is an opportunity to remind successive post-independence generations that all the merit of this epic sacred struggle waged against the greatest colonial power of the century goes to those who watered the land of Algeria with their blood as well as to those who gave the best of themselves for the just national cause until reaching the objective desired by the Algerian people, an optimal choice to recover their freedom and sovereignty.
May this celebration be a symbol to perpetuate the resistance of the Algerian people for the 132-year struggle against the colonial yoke, and an opportunity to renew the oath of our glorious chouhada sacrificed for the dignity and pride of this country.
It is our responsibility to instill in the generations of independence how to be inspired by the self-denial of sacrifices and the fierce resistance of these martyrs, to safeguard the foundations of national unity and face enemy plots, both inside and outside.
To this end, the celebration of this national holiday is high to objectively evaluate the path traveled and ensure the preservation of the political independence won and works accomplished which will allow the people to live in freedom, sovereignty and democracy.
