Bordj El Kiffan (Water Fort)
Built to ensure the defense of the promontory of Matifou, an inscription in Arabic dates its construction back to Mohamed Pasha (1722-1723).
This fort was equipped with eleven (11) embrasures and ten cannons: Four (04) on the sea side, one (01) on the land side, and the others pointed to the right and left on the square.
Its privileged position allowed permanent surveillance on the open sea.
