National Public Museum Ahmed Zabana Oran
The Ahmed ZABANA National Public Museum located in the center of the city of Oran, was officially inaugurated on November 11, 1935 in the premises of the Palais des Beaux Arts and was named “Demaëght Museum”. This palace includes the museum, the municipal library, as well as the School of Fine Arts.
After independence, the Museum was entrusted to the Communal Popular Assembly of the city of Oran which in 1986 made it available to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism which it established as the Ahmed ZABANA National Museum by Executive Decree No. 86-135 of May 27, 1986, in homage to one of the martyr heroes of the Algerian revolution.
