Mostaganem, authentic pearl of Western Algeria and the Mediterranean basin, is a city of Art and culture known throughout the ages, under various names, it was successively called MURISTAGA then MOUCHTAGHANEM and MISK-EL-GHANAIM.
The city of Mostaganem contains numerous archaeological and historical places and sites which make it a tourist area of ​​prime importance and which constitute precious testimony to the most significant stages in the history of the region.
The populous district of Tigditt was rightly described as the Casbah of Tigditt: it is one of the oldest districts of Algerian cities. It constitutes an important urban fabric of the city of Mostaganem. Exclusively reserved for “Natives” This district participated heroically in the national liberation struggle.
