Algerian Red Crescent first aid
First aid is a method of first aid and rescue. Before being a method that is taught for intervention in the event of a disaster or disaster, first aid is only the corollary of certain maxims which exist in all languages and which can be summarized as follows: you must help your neighbor.
This means that first aid is as old as religions since it is recommended in the sermons of the imam, the priest, and any man of religion. Sometimes, it becomes imperative and obeys a regulation as we can see in the Koran, in the verses which deal in particular with the fitra.
With the Swiss Henry Dunant, this word will have a broader interpretation, becoming for each man a true mission, a sacred duty. Since the Battle of Solferino, it has become a discipline intended to train rescuers, at the same time as it begins to appear in international texts, in various conventions studied and ratified by several governments. For many years, it has been confused with the very notion of the Red Crescent.
And thanks to this institution, first aid is evolving, taking on an increasingly dynamic meaning. It evolves at the same time as progress, at the same time as medicine whose vocation becomes more and more preventive. In turn, first aid will prevent and its scope of prevention is immense.
Already in matters of public health, it is becoming synonymous with health education and, in some countries, it is part of the teaching provided in schools. But for first aid to become truly effective, it will need more and more followers, which will translate into the training of as many first aiders as Algerian citizens.
This will be the program of the Algerian Red Crescent throughout the years to come alongside specialized government organizations whose vocation is to provide relief.
