Warda El-Jazairia
Warda Ftouki, better known under the pseudonym Warda El-Jazairia, born July 22, 1939 in Paris and died May 17, 2012 in Cairo, Egypt, and buried in Algeria.
Warda makes his debut in Paris. After the outbreak of the Algerian War, she continued her career in Lebanon, then in Egypt. After independence, she interrupted her career until 1972, when she married an Algerian officer. After her divorce, she moved to Egypt and married the composer Baligh Hamdi.
Known for her sentimental songs, she also performs patriotic songs, she has also participated as an actress in several films and serials. His repertoire includes more than 300 songs. She is considered a “diva” of Arabic song.
