The dangers of the internet
Young people form the population most exposed and most targeted by predators of all kinds on the internet.
Children aged between 12 and 17 are the most connected to the internet and the phenomenon is increasing with the development of mobile internet (cell phones). The web is a space of temptation, a fun space but also a risky space in which children are vulnerable.
Even if the Internet is rich in information of all kinds, it also conveys a quantity of dubious and worthless information. To the extent that anyone can easily disseminate their theories or personal opinions, Internet users and especially young people must absolutely acquire critical thinking which encourages them to verify the credibility of the information found online.
New provisions have been introduced in the penal code n° 14-01 of February 4, 2014 modifying and supplementing the ordinance n° 66-156 of June 8, 1966 relating to the penal code, the amendments affecting the chapters and sections having a direct link with childhood, in particular the debauchery or corruption of a minor. as well as the law on the protection of the child, n° 15-12 of the 15 July 2015, further strengthened the protection of child victims of violence.
The aim of issuing a postage stamp on the misuse of the internet is to:
• Challenge the general public and encourage them to think about the dangers of misusing the internet.
• To prevent misuse, and raise awareness among parents and families about the threats and risks of misuse of the Internet by children.
