The Football World Cup – Russia 2018
From June 14 to July 15, 2018, Russia will host the 21st edition of the Football Cup, which brings together the best teams in the world. The qualifying phase saw a significant renewal of participants with the return of certain nations after several decades of absence, such as Peru, Egypt or Morocco and the presence of Panama and Iceland for the first time in their history.
Qualified during the last two editions, Algeria will unfortunately not be present in Russia. She will not be alone since major football nations will not participate in this 21st edition such as Italy, the Netherlands, Ivory Coast and Ghana.
For more than a month, the entire football world will have its eyes on Russia to follow one of the most open World Cups in history. Indeed, at least eight nations can legitimately claim the final title: Germany as title holder, Argentina as finalist of the last edition, Brazil currently the best selection in the world according to the FIFA rankings, but also Spain, England, France, Portugal and Russia as organizing country.
The novelty during the Russia 2018 World Cup concerns refereeing. Indeed, this is the first time that FIFA will use video refereeing to minimize human errors from the knights of the whistle.
It goes without saying that the most followed sporting event on the planet will be faithful to tradition with full stadiums, lots of shows and the emergence of new football stars.
