As part of the implementation of Law No. 07-06 of May 13, 2007, relating to the management, protection and development of green spaces, in particular its article 32 which establishes “a national green city prize”.
Organized by the Ministry of the Environment and Renewable Energy, the 1st edition of the national green city prize awarded by His Excellency the President of the Republic will be celebrated on October 25, 2018, coinciding with National Tree Day, following a national competition, based on the quality of floral decoration, the use of plants adapted to our region and the application of environmentally friendly cultivation techniques, launched on June 5, 2018.
The objective of this event is:
• To ensure the good management and promotion of green spaces;
• To improve the urban living environment,
• Maintain and improve the quality of existing urban green spaces,
• To promote the creation of natural green spaces,
• To promote the extension of green spaces in relation to built spaces,
The basic idea of this concept is represented by a set of petals held by two hands, symbolizing the protection of the environment and biodiversity. The color widely represented in the composition of the stamp, “green” the color of plants and water as well. Through this connection between green and nature, it is widely used to symbolize the protection and preservation of nature.
In this concept, the flower has 3 petals and a water drop shape, each petal is composed of different elements:
• First petal: Presents a group of buildings, school etc... Forming a homogeneous whole of a clean city and electrical energy produced from solar radiation thanks to photovoltaic panels.
• Second petal: Presents a natural environment, green spaces (air, plants, animals, etc.) as well as human activities in a clean and healthy environment.
• Third petal: In order to reduce the environmental footprint and reduce the effects of pollution on the environment and our health, a representation of the icon of selective sorting (reuse of materials to make recycled products) is inserted to ensure a dimension of sustainable development for the green city.
• the drop of water: Water is a substance essential to the stability of all living beings: men, animals and plants, etc. it is also essential to the development of nature and the environment. Water is the source of life, purification and regeneration.
