Let's eat Algerian

As part of the national policy on the diversification of exports and the rationalization of imports of products, Algeria has initiated a strategy for the promotion of national production and the improvement of its quality in relation to international standards and to put them at the same level as imported products. The importance of the adoption of this policy is part of the strengthening of the national economy, which requires carrying out an operation of orientation and awareness of citizens in order to involve them in the development of the country's economy, and this through the consumption of Algerian products.
In this context, since 2015, the Ministry of Commerce has launched awareness campaigns under the slogan “Consume Algerian”
Also, the choice of this theme aims to achieve objectives that have a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the country, in particular:
- Promotion and valorization of the Algerian product;
- Preservation and creation of new jobs by encouraging the opening of new businesses to reduce unemployment;
- Creation of a competitive atmosphere between economic operators with a view to promoting national production;
- Reduce the bill relating to import and external dependence;
- Promote consumer credit which is a bank credit allowing consumers to purchase local products.
Element justifying the choice of theme:
- Encourage and support the opening of markets for Algerian products on an international scale to develop experiences;
- Save the national currency, the “Algerian Dinar” while consuming Algerian products, which bear the bar code starting with the number 613;
- Create wealth at the individual and collective level;
- Encourage and support local production;
- Creation of a competitive atmosphere of quality between economic operators with a view to promoting national production.
- Reduce the invoice relating to the importation of products.
