Fight against forest fires
“Let’s protect our forests, let’s protect our wealth”
Forest fires are among the major risks whose effects are the most devastating and which cause significant human and material losses to the State every year. To this end and as part of the efforts deployed by public authorities for the protection of the environment and the preservation of forest wealth, the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Regional Planning, proceeded with the installation, in 2020, of a monitoring unit in charge of monitoring and permanent evaluation of the evolution of forest fires as well as the effectiveness of the prevention and control systems affected in this regard.
It should be noted that the missions assigned to this unit also extend to the investigation into the causes and circumstances of these incidents and the implementation of all measures undertaken by the State in order to guarantee the protection of citizens and their property.
The Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Regional Planning carries out each year, particularly during the summer season, the launch of large-scale prevention campaigns accompanied by awareness-raising work, supported by all the stakeholders concerned, based on the effective involvement of citizens in the preservation of forest wealth with a view to raising awareness around the need to adopt responsible behavior with regard to the environment.
Thus, this stamp aims to recall the participatory approach adopted, which is among the means of prevention and fight against forest fires, since the combined efforts of all is the only way to avoid all alterations or degradation of this important wealth.
