World Teachers' Day
Since 1994, World Teachers' Day has been celebrated in commemoration of the date of signing of the 1966 UNESCO/ILO Recommendation, which proclaims the rights and responsibilities of teachers.
The commemoration of October 5 is intended to be a tribute and recognition of the important role of teachers around the world. All societies in the world undertake to respect and honor the teacher since he is the bearer of the honorable message and is the light that springs from darkness to illuminate the minds of pupils and students, thus excluding ignorance and underdevelopment.
Algeria, like other countries in the world, celebrates this day by expressing its full gratitude to thousands of teachers and professors for their dedication to work and for their contribution to the development of the personality and mental and physical abilities of students over time.
Despite the difficulties they faced, notably the spread of the corona virus pandemic, teachers have continued to demonstrate a great deal of responsibility and professional conscience by mobilizing for the Algerian school on the one hand and for our students in the face of a pandemic which is prolonged and which is claiming victims.
Finally, the recognition of this day demonstrates the interest that the State and society have in knowledge and science, facing the challenge of achieving a high level of education based on knowledge, values โโand ethics.
