At each of its participations in international fairs and exhibitions, Algeria is represented by distinctive pavilions which reflect its centuries-old civilization, culture and identity.
This time, it is the city of Dubai which is hosting the “Expo Dubai 2020” event with a record participation of 192 pavilions. It is the first World Expo held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
The Dubai World Expo is organized under the theme of “Connecting Minds, Building the Future”. Three other sub-themes, represented by three pavilions, were also selected for this edition: opportunities, mobility and sustainability.
Algeria took part in this event through its membership of the Steering Committee which is made up of Governors General from 30 countries, out of a total of 170 member countries of the Bureau International des Expositions.
Algeria's participation in this event, which lasts until the end of March 2022, is the most important in the history of our country's representation in such world fairs, since we are participating for the first time with a pavilion contained in an entirely independent building.
The Algerian pavilion is designed in the form of the ancient city of the Casbah of Algiers, and is intended to be a portal allowing access to the culture, history and development of Algeria.
The design of the Algerian pavilion is based on the concept of “journey”, through which the visitor will have to discover Algeria up close, starting with its heritage, its culture, its traditions and its nature, to then highlight its aspirations, its innovations and its position on the international scene and its leading role.
