Men's traditional outfit: It is an outfit that distinguishes the Oranian man, it consists of the following:
-The headgear: In the western region of the country and in particular the Oran region, the man was renowned for his use of (Chèche), linen scarves, light cotton fabrics, with which he wrapped his head and then added the turban, (the Amama). He also used what is known as (Araquiya). In earlier periods, the (Amama) was called “Kamboush”.
-The shirt: it was mainly white, and sometimes light blue.
-The vest: embroidered in gold thread called “majboud”.
-The pants: very wide, Ottoman style, with pleats at the waist and back called “testifa”. Its name is associated with the numerous folds it contains, it is therefore called in Algerian “Seroual Testifa”. It was also called “Bouzekri” or “Seroual Loubia”. At the waist, it has a leather belt.

Women's traditional outfit:
The Oran blouza (blousa): It is a traditional outfit which appeared in the Western region but whose origins date back to the Tlemcen region. It has spread to Oran because this region is strategic and open to other regions of the country. Then she became known and famous under the name “Blouza Oranaise”. It has a special cut that imitates the details of the waist, which sets it apart and gives it a modern look compared to the caftan of that era.
The Oranese woman wore this dress on ordinary days and on weddings and occasions, but the blouza on ordinary days was simple and made of usual fabric. On the other hand, the blouza dedicated to weddings and religious festivals is characterized by its quality fabric, of different colors and geometric shapes, and its bodice dotted with stones of different types and different shapes and values.
There are various names for the “blouza” derived from a specific reality such as the “blouza ezzaîm”, “blouza checha”, “blouza Hassi Messaoud”, “Blouzet l’aadess” in relation to the fabric encrusted with pearls which resemble lentils.
