60th anniversary of independence 1962 - 2022
Every year, Algeria celebrates July 5, Independence Day. On July 5, Algeria celebrates its independence, an occasion which takes on a special character after sixty years of construction. It is one of the stages of our glorious history and an occasion dear to the hearts of all Algerians, through which we fulfill the duty of gratitude, appreciation and loyalty to the heroes of Algeria who made a glorious revolution that the world is still witnessing, following the enormous sacrifices made by a million and a half martyrs in the name of freedom and liberation from brutal colonialism that lasted 132 years.
Like the youth of the generation of November 1954 who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the homeland, today's youth, faithful to the ideals and values of their predecessors, carried the torch of construction in the aftermath of the reestablishment of sovereignty.
Thus, Algeria has entered the phase of construction, laying industrial foundations and laying basic structures for the construction of today's Algeria.
She followed the path of construction and her children embarked on laying the foundations for the development and advancement of industry, individual and society, and these efforts resulted in valuable achievements and gains in various sectors such as education, health, agriculture, industry.
The infrastructure and achievements embodied in the design of this year's postage stamp, which bears the official emblem and was designed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of independence in the form of a circular frame bearing 60 stars symbolizing national unity and the years of independence, inside which are the pages of a book symbolizing the register of national memory.
The first golden page represents the strong bond and continuity between the National Liberation Army and the National People's Army and its contribution to strengthening national cohesion.
The emblem symbolizes the professionalism of the National People's Army and its possession of the capabilities necessary for the defense of national sovereignty and the preservation of its territorial integrity. It also has a symbol which embodies the scientific and technological development that the new Algeria is experiencing as it experiences its sixth decade of independence.
