The celebration of World Post Day is this year under the theme “post for the planet”, climate change is starting to have harmful effects on our lives and without concrete and immediate action, it will be much more difficult and costly to adapt to the future consequences of this phenomenon.

The postal sector, which employs more than five million people in more than 600,000 post offices in 192 countries, and which distributes hundreds of billions of postal items per year, is called upon, like all sectors, to play its role in the face of this historic challenge, by reducing its Carbon footprint.

As an international player in distribution and services, Posts are best placed to lead the way for their partners across the global supply chain. They can be pioneers in improving mitigation, adaptation and resilience activities to combat global warming within other sectors.

The Post must revive the spirit of innovation that previously helped them in their fight against the COVID 19 pandemic and leverage this experience to find innovative solutions and reduce CO2 emissions.

The fight against the climate crisis is everyone's business, company and nation on this planet, and concrete actions require real investments which must be considered as seeds which will produce fruit to be picked in the future.
