The glorious Algerian Revolution saw several crimes perpetrated by the French colonizer against the Algerian people, such as murders, abuses, torture and collective genocides. But the Algerian People, refusing humiliation, preferred to fight and make the supreme sacrifice to wrest their freedom and live freely and with dignity.

Among the Martyrs who fell on the fields of honor there are women and men without graves because they were not buried, who disappeared without the slightest trace, who were torn from their families, tortured and executed individually or collectively.

These Chouhada (Martyrs) were also thrown into the valleys and forests, or buried in unknown mass graves. Today, neither the identity nor the exact number of these chouhada is known.

To this end, a commemorative issue of postage stamps against oblivion is dedicated to the honor of these brave, unburied chouhada.
