Definition of accessibility:

As defined by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, it is to enable persons with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in all aspects of life, by taking appropriate measures that guarantee their access to the physical environment, means of transport, information and communication, facilities and other services available to the general public.

As part of this approach, Algeria ratified by presidential decree dated May 12, 2009 the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of 2006, which addressed the question of facilitating access for disabled people in its article 9; Algeria also promulgated Law No. 02-09 of May 8, 2002, relating to the protection and promotion of disabled people, which in its article 30, deals with the measures to be taken to facilitate the access of disabled people to public places and to facilitate their use of means of transport, means of communication and the media, in addition to Executive Decree No. 06-455 of December 11, 2006, which specifies the modalities facilitating access for people with disabilities to physical, social, environmental, economic and cultural life.
