Sifar-Djanet site
It is an archaeological site located in the Tassili N’Ajer cultural reserve and which dates back to the prehistoric “Neolithic” period. Its name is inspired by a variety of dates from Libya, which is yellow on one side and ripe on the other side. The site of Sifar is a rock archaeological site dating from the cow period, where inscriptions describe daily life which depends on hunting, men shooting arrows, drawings representing women and herds of cows and various other animals such as elephants, giraffes, etc.
This site was classified as a “World Heritage” in 1982 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO and as a nature reserve in 1986 by the “Environment and Man” Network.
