The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) (known internationally by its English name Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF)) is an intergovernmental organization of the world's leading natural gas exporters, whose objective is to support their sovereign rights over their natural gas resources and to promote cooperation and dialogue on gas-related issues.

The GECF includes (12) member countries and (7) observer countries from four continents, representing 69% of global gas reserves, 39% of marketed production and 40% of global gas exports.

The 12 member countries are: Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

The 7 observer countries are: Angola, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Malaysia, Mauritania, Mozambique and Peru.

The 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government (Summit) of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum is scheduled for March 2, 2024 in Algiers, People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, with associated events beginning on February 29, 2024.

The organization of this Summit in Algiers reflects Algeria's important role within the forum and on the world energy scene, against a backdrop of a situation marked by the crucial importance of gas in energy security.

The model of the postage stamp dedicated to this event was designed using the letter (ج) in reference to “الجزائر” in the form of the number “7” (summit edition) with the national colors, as well as a gas flame, which are surrounded by the acronym of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries. The whole enhanced by the fabulous Algerian ZELIDJ and the image of the Shahid monument, a symbol of welcome to Algeria, the organizing country of this event.
