Bled El Hadba phosphate mine - Tébessa
located 14 km southeast of Jebel Onk.
The phosphate deposit is located on the western flank of the Djebel Zerga anticline which extends along the Algerian-Tunisian border. The Bled El Hadba phosphate has been known since 1888 through the work of Thomas. It was the subject of reconnaissance by wells and galleries from the beginning of the century. The geology of the phosphate zone is described by Dussert in 1924. It was exploited in the periods of 1910-1911 and 1977-1978. The overall geological reserves of the deposit, all categories combined, are estimated at approximately 890 Mt.
