Nelson Mandela Stadium
Located in the commune of Baraki, wilaya of Algiers, it is a multi-sport stadium with a total capacity of 40,000 + 784 seats. It includes a main pitch made to FIFA specifications, measuring 105 x 68 meters, and a secondary pitch with the same dimensions 105 x 68 meters on a plot of 3.5 hectares.
The stadium has five elevators, three freight elevators, a 250-seat conference room, a 30-seat press room, and a 111 m² presidential reception room. It also includes changing rooms for players, built to FIFA standards, with each facility measuring 260 m², as well as four offices for coaches.
In addition, the stadium offers public toilets intended for men, women, people with reduced mobility, and VIPs. It is equipped with parking lots and a helicopter landing zone, used for emergencies and official delegations.
The stadium, named in honor of the late African leader 'Nelson Mandela', was inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on January 12, 2023. It hosted the 7th edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2022 for local players.
