The martyr was born in 1922 in the village of Taghlat, near Beni Mellikeche, Akbou, Béjaïa. In 1947, he joined the national movement and became a member of the Special Organization. After the outbreak of the Liberation Revolution, the martyr led numerous military operations alongside freedom fighters in the region, including the Battle of Sidi Ali Bounab in November 1954. In 1955, he was appointed regional commander in historic Wilaya III, alongside Colonel Amirouche. He was responsible for securing the Soummam region in preparation for the Congress of August 20, 1956. After the martyrdom of Colonel Amirouche in March 1959, Abderrahmane Mira became the commander of Wilaya III, a position he held until his martyrdom during the Battle of Chellata on November 6, 1959.
