The martyr was born on May 29, 1927 in 'Kimmel' in Aurès. From a young age, he was known for his rebellious nature against conditions and his rejection of the reality experienced by the Algerian people under colonial rule. This caused him to revolt, take up arms and declare revolution against the French colonizer long before the outbreak of the November 1 Revolution. With the start of the glorious Liberation Revolution, the martyr joined the ranks of the National Liberation Army and carried out numerous military operations, which made him a target for the colonial authorities. Korine Belkacem was martyred on November 29, 1954, near Arris in Batna, following a military operation and a siege of the region where he had taken refuge in the mountains of 'Chélia' in Aurès. This operation lasted approximately two weeks, from November 17 to 30, 1954, mobilizing approximately 5,000 French soldiers.
