In accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic, aimed at promoting school sport and giving it a central place in the national education sector, efforts have been made to promote sporting activity as an essential element of the Algerian education system. This initiative aims to cultivate the talents present in educational establishments and take advantage of the vast sporting potential of the sector, with the aim of improving the Algerian sports scene at the national and international levels.
In this context, a significant step has been taken to develop the subject “Physical and sports education” at the primary education level. From the 2022/2023 school year, this discipline is now supervised by specialists.
This orientation aims to strengthen the quality of sports teaching and improve the physical practices of students. In addition, school sport helps to instill and consolidate values such as competition, cooperation and discipline among younger generations, thus participating in the development of national sport and the discovery of new talents.
Supporting school sport by establishing adequate infrastructure, modern sports facilities and specialized training constitutes a real investment in the future of young people, while being a major source of the emergence of sporting champions who represent the nation in international competitions.
